My wife and I are coming to St. Louis for the 3rd and 4th of July. We are going to the baseball game on the 4th and heard about this Fair St. Louis. We are wondering if anyone has heard any rumors of potential performers for this year? I am making reservations for Ruth's Chris and don't want to miss anyone worth watching. Both events are free to get in( you have to buy tickets for food and drink concessions) but none of the line ups of performers has been announced. Its usually not done until spring and you can check on line to get the info. I'm assuming that you are going to the Ruth Chris steak house downtown and not the one on Brentwood. You don't have to get reservations this far ahead. You can call after you know what time the different performances are going to be. I hope you have your hotel reservations already. The rooms with an Arch view usually book up over a year ahead of time. Bring comfortable walking shoes because traffic and parking can get bad during this time downtown and make sure you have cool clothes. Its usually hot and humid. The past few years we have had some rain over the weekend of the fourth so I'd suggest packing a couple of cheap disposable rain ponchos in your suitcase and a pair of shoes that you don't care if they get muddy. The shows always go on but it can be a pretty sloppy mess after a rain. We're hoping that this year will be sunny and nice but I'd prepare for the worst just in case.
