Why do we tolerate wasteful and abusive spending of our tax dollars?

Why can't we take the tax money that is already generated and do more good with it?

Why does a State Department employee need $360 worth of lingerie from Seduccion Boutique to be used for jungle training in Ecuador??

Among some of the examples reported by the GAO was an Agricultural Department employee who paid $642,000 to a live-in boyfriend. That money was apparently used for gambling and car and mortgage payments, among other things.

At the U.S. Postal Service workers expensed $14,000 on Internet dating and a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse dinner for 81 people.

The Pentagon tab has $77,000 for clothing, accessories and sporting goods. Among the charges were $45,000 at Brooks Brothers and other high-end stores that make custom suits.

And a State Department employee spent $360 on lingerie at Seduccion Boutique supposedly to be used for jungle training in Ecuador.

I would like to know why U.S. citizen tax dollars are used to support and help with the welfare of ILLEGAL immigrants. If that isn't disgusting I don't know what is. If its going to be wasted at least let it be blown on LEGAL citizens of the U.S.Why do we tolerate wasteful and abusive spending of our tax dollars?
ok. now when you figure out how we are going to stop it with the current crooked politicians in charge. let me know. I with you all the way
The same reason most people are voting for the hand outs promised! Why do we tolerate wasteful and abusive spending of our tax dollars?
Because we, as a society, keep electing the wasteful spenders.
Are you unhappy with the people YOU voted into office? Why do we tolerate wasteful and abusive spending of our tax dollars?
THANK GOD you put this up here! youve said things that have been rattling around in my head all month! ive been thinking a lot on it, and i think that unfortunately, the reason we accept it is because we have forgotten how to reject it. once upon a time, we could and did, as a people, rise up and stop abuses such as this. there was the revolutionary war, and there are several instances in which we have thrown leaders out of office and replaced them with good leaders who will do what we want as a people (peacefully, through voting of course). but Americans seem to be content to just sit and be robbed and screwed over and over again. until we get some more educated, action-oriented Americans, we're sitting ducks for the politicos to take us for everything we have, including $810 billion.
Ok lets look at it this way...

Money gets appropriated for training in the jungle of Ecuador.

They get the money and spend what they need on supplies and such and find there is money left over.

If they return the money, they are not likely to get as much the next time they ask for it.

So now they have a bunch of money to spend, but don't really need anything else for the training.

So they take the money and start spending it on whatever they can.

Doesn't even matter if they need what they are buying, they can give it away or whatever.

The point is that if they want to get the same amount the next time they need it, without someone giving them only what they think they need, they have to spend it.

That's waste, caused by government appropriation systems!
